Frank Mason III is known as one of the most decorated players in Kansas basketball history. His senior year at Kansas, he emerged as a strong leader as he was the only player in Kansas history to average over 20 points and 5 assists in a season. In 2017, he was the unanimous National Player of the Year and was given the award by 10 different entities which included the Associated Press and USA Today. His accolades in that season also include the unanimous Big 12 Player of the Year and Consensus All-America First Team. Mason concluded his Kansas career ranked 6th on the Kansas scoring list (1,885 points), 6th in assists (576), 8th in 3-point field goals (185), and 13th in steals (165). He was drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the 34th pick in the 2017 draft and scored 24 points in 24 minutes in a NBA game against the Lakers. In the 2019-2020 season, Frank Mason III played on the Wisconsin Herd and was named NBA G League MVP along with being placed on the All-NBA G League’s First Team.
