Lonzo Ball took over all the headlines on ESPN his freshman year at UCLA as he averaged 14.6 points and a nation-leading 7.6 assists per game. He earned National Freshman of the Year and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors along with being named an Associated Press First Team All-American. He was a finalist for the John R. Wooden and the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year awards. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the second overall pick in the 2017 draft. Ball would play in 52 games for the Lakers and he started in 50 of those games posting 10.2 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game, and 7.2 assists per game. These stats helped his case for being named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team and being a participant in the NBA Rising Stars Challenge in 2018 and 2019. Ball was traded to the Pelicans in 2019 after he tore his meniscus and posted a career high 14.6 points per game in the 2020-2021 season. Lonzo Ball was then traded to the Chicago Bulls in the offseason and saw a big difference in his three point shot as he shot a career high 42.3% from behind the arc.
