Chris Paul began his freshman year at Wake Forest after winning the honor of Mr. Basketball in the state of North Carolina his senior year of high school. While playing for the Demon Deacons, he established himself as one of the best college basketball players in the country. His sophomore season he was a consensus First Team All-American who led the Demon Deacons to a school-record 27 wins and the program’s first ever number 1 national ranking. In 2013, Wake Forest retired Paul’s number 3 jersey. He was the 4^th pick in the 2005 draft and was selected by the New Orleans Hornets. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team and has been a 11-time NBA All-Star, including earning MVP honors in the 2013 All-Star Game. Paul has been named to the All-NBA Team nine times, including four first-team selections, in addition to nine years on the NBA All-Defensive Team. In the 2020-2021 season, Chris Paul was the leader and facilitator on the Phoenix Suns, and led them all the way to the NBA Finals where they were defeated by the Milwaukee Bucks.
